Happy Moon Festival

Happy Moon Festival! This means, the moon is the biggest it will be all year and so everyone eats moon cakes!

Trevor got a break from school and I got a few days off work. It was great! We have a great big park across the street from us so we decided to have a American picnic with PB&J sandwiches, Lays BBQ chips and some of our favorite Mango smoothies. When we went to order the smoothies I got to practice some Chinese. After some awkward pauses and smiles we walked away with exactly what we wanted! Be proud, I've been practicing! We had a great picnic and enjoyed feeding the Koi fish some of our chips. I think they enjoyed the BBQ flavor.

That night we decided to go to Confucius Temple for their light show. It was really neat and there were a lot of people there for the Moon Festival. We got there right before sunset so we were able to see everything in the light.

Then the sun went down and then the party started. There were lights everywhere! Trevor got to practice his bartering skills with some of the street venders. We enjoyed the local shops and found some great food.
