Silk Museum & Presidential Palace

Field Trippin again...

The Silk Museum

If you think your job is complicated you should try to figure this contraption out. I don't know who created this or how they were ever able to make it work but it does. I sat there and watched them work for a long time and am still stumped on how it works, maybe magic?

This is a silk loom they used to create their very decorative fabrics.

We were lucky enough to enjoy a Silky Fashion Show! Work it ladies....

The famous Chinese Qi Pao is the traditional style of dress that used to be worn daily
So sad this style died out, so classy!

The Presidential Palace

The Presidential Palace in Nanjing, China, housed the Office of the President of the Republic of China before the republic relocated to Taiwan in 1949. Long before it was the Presidential Palace it was home to royalty all throughout the Ming Dynasty. It was a big sight, lots of old and new buildings, ponds and yards.

Outside the gate

During the Ming Dynasty this was the royal family's area

This was the National flag of The Republic of China from 1912-1929.

Each color on the flag represents a different ethnic group of China at the time.

One BIG stamp.
