Xuan Wu Park

We went wondering during the Mid Autumn Festival. It is a week long national holiday where everyone has work off. So, of course, everyone travels and it is crazy! We decided to stay in Nanjing rather than fight the crowds traveling. Turns out that the crowds came to Nanjing! We were surprised at how many people there were but we managed and made our way to see a beautiful park! Turns out its right down the street from out apartment. It is called Xuan Wu Park. It is absolutely beautiful. It is a park around the Xuan Wu lake. It is right outside the Nanjing Wall and has a ton of trees. It was a fresh escape from the cars, buses, scooters and millions of horns honking!

We walked around a bit before it got dark then watched the lights come on around the lake. Then the night shopping began.

 There were street venders set up at the park and then further down on a long street. Everything was lit up and there were people everywhere. We found some cute yellow bedding for about $15 US dollars. I was very excited! Then we stopped at a restaurant and got some dinner. It was cafeteria style so we walked around and asked for the things that looked good to us. We did pretty good, we got a beef and a pork meat dish and some tofu with veggies. I was full and happy.

 

It was a fun night out and great to see what is around Nanjing! There is so much here!
